Families and Individuals being homeless without a place to stay is a major issue in India more so in urban cities and towns.
Many such children, old aged and individuals can be found in railway stations, near temples and dargahs, in markets, under bridges, near bus stops among other places. These people lack a stable home or a shelter and many of them sleep in the streets and in the foot paths.
There are a number of factors that push them to living on the street. Of course one of the major cause is poverty.
Daily food, a proper shelter and basic education is a distant dream for these homeless and they end up becoming rag-pickers, hawkers and beggars, while few work in smaller shops and establishments.
They are prone to high health hazards due to unhygienic living conditions and without a proper shelter they are also constantly exposed to environmental conditions of heat, cold and rain.
